December 7,2022

Dear MEC Families,

It is a pleasure to introduce our new secretary, Ms. Ruth Orozco Vasquez. We are thrilled to welcome Ms.Ruth to MEC!

It is hard to believe we are almost at the end of the Fall semester. December is always a lot of fun with lots of field trips and special activities. It is a joyful time of year and we are so excited to share these experiences with our students.

Please remember to send your child to school with a warm jacket as the weather changes. It is often cold and windy outside. It is also cold and flu season and we are seeing an uptick in Covid positive cases. If your child is sick, please keep them at home and consider administering a Covid test to check for Covid. If your child has a cold, please administer a Covid test to determine a positive or negative result. If the result is negative and they feel okay to come to school that is okay. If you would like for your child to wear a mask indoors, please send them with one. We have a supply of masks at school for students if they are needed. Your child has to be without a fever for 24 hours.

Here are a few reminders:

  • Please do not double park your vehicle or park in neighbors' driveways. 30th street is very narrow. The street needs to be accessible for emergency vehicles. Drop your child off in the white zone on Noe St. so they can walk into the school. Be mindful of the school buses so they can drop students off safely.
  • Friday, December 16 is the last day of the semester. We will be on Winter Break and return to school on January 3, 2023.
  • Enrollment for 2022-2023: If your child will be leaving MEC next school year, we will assist you with the application process. Next Monday, December 12, I will be hosting a workshop to share information regarding school and program options available for your child. After receiving this information we’ll work with you to submit your child’s enrollment forms. The deadline is February 3, 2023.

Have a great week!

Sincerely,

Carla A Llewelyn-Vasquez, Principal
