A key project of the 2024 Bond, the Hub + Shops is a partnership with Student Nutrition Services and Buildings & Grounds. It builds on the SNS vision to address food security and provide healthier, more nutritious options for students. The project will rebuild the central warehouse at 801 and 834 Toland, improving district's ability to provide building maintenance through its shops, and constructing the space that will become SFUSD's central kitchen.

SFUSD is the largest provider of food security for children in San Francisco, and the largest food service operator in the Bay Area. SFUSD's Student Nutrition Services Department serves about 40,000 meals per day. Nearly two-thirds of students rely on school food for most of their daily nutrition.

Stay tuned for more updates on the project schedule and budget.
