What do our teachers say about the program?
Teacher reflections
“ I really feel like I got what I needed from this experience. I wanted to focus on my science assessment and we did. It was interesting to see how other areas of my teaching like classroom management, planning, organization were embedded in the assessment practices. I think that I am truly a better teacher after participating in this program.”
Best professional development
“This is a great program- often in a professional development, there is a lot of information you already know or doesn't pertain to you or your class. By focusing in on my self identified area of growth, I can honestly say I am a better teacher than I was a couple of months ago. I hope more teachers take advantage of this awesome program!”
This is what I wanted!
“I am so glad that I was able to take advantage of the TLC program. I was able to tell my coach exactly what I wanted to focus on, which was science assessment. She was able to give me lots of concrete methods, advice on classroom management and parent communication, as well as cheering me on for things I am doing already.”
Not your one-size fits all PD experience
“I really enjoyed my experience in the program. As a more experienced teacher (8 years) it was so refreshing to be able to work with my coach to design a TLC cycle curtailed to my specific needs. Usually PDs and trainings are one-size-fits all and/or there is no choice.”
Visiting other classrooms is helpful
“My coach was supportive in helping facilitate my experience, set up visits to other schools for observations, and providing tools for reflection. It was invaluable to visit other schools sites and learning from other teachers outside of my site.”
