Every assessment should be designed and administered to gather evidence of student learning that will guide specific future decisions.
Analysis of data builds an understanding of classroom instruction and student achievement by answering specific questions about teaching and learning for all students as well as specific groups of students. Action based on the knowledge gained from the analysis benefit all stakeholders in the school system within the classroom, at the school sites, and at the district level.
