School Site Council Meeting
The next School Site Council meeting will be on Wednesday 01/15/2025 at 6:00PM via Zoom Meeting. We will be planning for use of funds this school year, and preparing for the next school year. Please click on the link below for Zoom link and agenda.
8th Grade High School Applications Due Date 01/31 5PM
High school applications for 8th Graders are due January 31, 2025 at 5PM. Please submit your applications as soon as possible. Yearbook Purchasing
Hello MLK Families,
Yearbooks are currently on sale for $35 but prices will rise to $40 in February, so buy your yearbooks before the price increases again! If you would like to personalize your yearbook, name stamping starts at $8.50 and must be purchased online before January 24th. To avoid the online service fee, we are also accepting alternative payments such as cash, Venmo, and Cash App. If you would like to buy a yearbook using the alternative payment methods, please use this google form to place your order.

Free Compost at MLK MS
Get free compost on Saturday, January 11. Bring your own 5 gallon buckets and be prepared to shovel.
WHEN: Saturday, January 11 from 10 AM – 12 PM
WHERE: MLK Academic Middle School parking lot
Just show up with buckets. You don’t have to volunteer/register.
Limit: 5 buckets per person. While supplies last. The event may end early.

NO AFTER-SCHOOL PROGRAM 01/17
Hello MLK Beacon Families,
This is another friendly reminder that on January 17th, MLK Beacon staff will have a professional development day and there will be NO AFTER-SCHOOL PROGRAM. Please arrange for your child to be picked up or travel home at the end of the school day at 4pm. There will be no flag football or soccer practice on this day. If you have any questions regarding the Volleyball game at MLK, please reach out to Coach Keani (flores-solanok@sfusd.edu). Although the after-school program will be closed, Morning Care will remain open as usual.

Starting in the 2024-25 school year, parents/guardians can use the ParentVUE App, to enter a FULL day absence via the ParentVUE portal on their mobile app or desktop site.

NO HABRÁ PROGRAMA DESPUÉS DE ESCUELA 01/17
Hola familias de MLK Beacon:
Este es otro recordatorio de que el 17 de enero, el personal de MLK Beacon tendrá un día de desarrollo profesional y NO HABRÁ PROGRAMA DESPUÉS DE ESCUELA. Por favor haga arreglos para que recojan a su hijo o viaje a casa al final del día escolar a las 4 p.m. No habrá fútbol de bandera ni práctica de fútbol ese día. Si tiene alguna pregunta sobre el juego de voleibol en MLK, comuníquese con la entrenadora Keani (flores-solanok@sfusd.edu). Aunque el programa despues del escuela estará cerrado, Morning Care permanecerá abierto como de costumbre.
