SFUSD’s English/Language Arts Team, in the Office of Curriculum & Instruction, is seeking middle grades English/Language Arts teachers and teacher librarians to:

Lead students to observe, wonder, and build community, while developing conceptual understanding and academic language. Get 1.5 PAID hours to experience and debrief science as a learner, discover distance teaching science resources at your grade-level, and collaborate with other teachers to plan for your students.

K-12 Teachers Who Teach Health, Health Advocates, School District Nurses, School Social Workers &  Wellness Staff:  join us for a paid online training series to learn more about California's new Health Education Framework! 

November 13-15, Nearpod will be offering “Camp Engage,” a free, web-based conference offering a series of webinars for educators new to Nearpod (e.g. “A Beginners Guide to Nearpod”), as well as more targeted offerings for veteran Nearpod users (e.g. “Build SEL Skills with Nearpod”).

The San Francisco State University Chinese Bilingual Added Authorization Program is an approved California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC) program that gives credentialed tK-12 educators the opportunity to earn a Bilingual Authorization in Cantonese or Mandarin.

SFUSD’s grab and go meal program will be available to all children 18 and younger beginning December 3, and continuing every Thursday, 2-3:30 p.m. (Note Holiday schedule changes)

Summer 2021 hiring and program planning is in full swing. Please remember the following protocols for summer positions: Any employee that is working in a summer program must be placed in a Summer position. Extended calendar is not allowed for work that is being conducted in a Summer program.

SFUSD is pleased to offer a free text messaging service called Ready4Learning for K through 2nd grade families. Ready4Learning sends tips to family members to use with their children. SFUSD is working with ParentPowered to provide this service to SFUSD families.

 The session will focus on making shared reading books virtually with and about your children, their families, their culture, the classroom, and shared interests.

Recology activities, resources, and virtual tours are available for all teachers to provide students with meaningful and fun opportunities to learn about reuse, recycling, and composting. Volunteer drivers are needed to deliver food to students with disabilities and special dietary needs. Drivers pick up and deliver boxes of school meals to student’s homes every Wednesday. Sign up to Drive!

You may be getting requests from service providers to approve their Acceptable Use Agreement and Technology Access Request form (AUP), to obtain a non-employee SFUSD email account. 

 Join for an introduction to Module 2: Stories Connect Us. We will provide an overview to the module and lesson plans, demonstration of instruction, and suggestions for independence and asynchronous instruction.

The District is migrating to a new network authentication system on Tuesday, October 6th at 6am. This change will result in a more stable, robust, and secure wireless experience for those using WiFi at an SFUSD site.

Great news! Families picking up meals at A.P. Giannini Middle School will now receive a full bag of meals, the same amount of meals provided at other locations

We now offer all-vegetarian grab and go meals at Mission High School (3750 18th St) and Willie Brown Middle School (2055 Silver Ave).

Star assessments are now available as an option for K-2 teachers seeking to learn more about students’ reading abilities to inform instruction during distance learning.

SFArtsED offers Connect & Create Online Arts Classes for Kids Let’s keep kids connecting and creating through online arts classes taught by SFArtsED Artist Mentors – some of the most distinguished visual and performing artists in the Bay Area.

The first 30 days of instruction are winding down and we wanted to share the update 2020-2021 Scope and Sequence of the Major Work of the Grade Level for TK-5 Language Arts.

Updated Voluntary Transfer Forms are now available for the 2020-21 school year. New this year, Alternative Schools are accepting students every six-week marking period. The voluntary transfer form is used to help students and families decide which alternative school is the right school for them!
