FRANCIS ZHANG
Hello, I am a newly appointed school secretary. I was born in a Hakka family, grew up in the Chaoshan region, and studied in Guangzhou, where I earned a bachelor's degree in Economics. I can speak Hakka, Teochew dialect, Cantonese, and of course, Mandarin as well.
I am deeply grateful to my parents who encouraged me to read from a young age and instilled in me the belief that education can change one's destiny. Their guidance has led me from a small mountain village to a bustling city, and even across continents from China to the United States. The term "Hakka" refers to people who reside far from their ancestral home, and I truly feel that I embody this spirit. In the words of Jack Kerouac, I am a perpetual traveler, forever "on the road." After graduating from university, I worked in criminal legal business successively in Guangzhou and San Francisco. Nevertheless, my heart has always held a passion for education, and I aspire to impart knowledge to young children and grow alongside them. This is why I eagerly applied when I learned that the Chinese Immersion School was hiring a secretary.
As a newly appointed school secretary, I am well aware that there is much for me to learn. I am open to receiving advice and critique with humility, continually striving to progress and evolve into an experienced school secretary. To parents and students, I want to assure you that I am committed to giving my utmost effort, fulfilling my responsibilities, and serving as a bridge between the school and students' families.
During my free time, I enjoy reading, watching movies, and playing soccer. If you share these interests, I warmly welcome the opportunity to discuss literature and soccer together.
