Volunteering Opportunities
Auction Volunteering
The CIS gala and auction is 100% parent organized, and we need as many volunteers as we can get. If you are interested in volunteering on or chairing an auction committee, please contact the Gala Committee at cisauction@gmail.com.
Solicitations
Solicit live and silent auction items from the community and local businesses. Recruit other parents to assist with solicitation efforts.
Parent/Teacher Events
Solicit parents and teachers to host parties and events for the silent auction. Collect event details and work with the Gala Committee to key the events into the auction software.
Intake
Collect and organize items for the auction as they are donated and input these items into the auction database with a creative description. This is a great job if you're highly organized, need flexible hours, and have a flair for creativity.
Online Auction
Work with the Intake Committee to edit auction lot information and item descriptions and share the catalog to all parents before the gala. Assist with the online auction.
Classroom Art Coordinator
Coordinate with teachers and room parents on the creation of class art projects for the gala auction. Assist with gathering finished projects and project write-ups, and transporting items to the gala (if possible).
Technology/Audio Visual
Set up laptops for check in and check out; troubleshoot and assist with technology issues. Set-up the audio-visual equipment required for the slideshow, etc.
Videos
Create the slideshows for the auction: “heartstrings”; artwork; raise the paddle.
Check In/Check Out
Recruit volunteers to check-in and check-out guests at the gala. Coordinate user account creation and training.
Auction (Silent and Live)
Prepare silent and live auction items the day of event. Post photos and descriptions of items, develop and organize bid sheets. Work during the silent auction period and watch for incorrect bids, close out silent auction stations and highlight winners.
Fulfillment
Collect all the physical auction items (baskets, artwork, etc.) and oversee item pick-up by guests after check-out.
