Early Education School TK Feeder Proposal

SFUSD is proposing changes to expand access to TK and ensure continuity for families Link to this section

SFUSD is proposing to change our enrollment policy to directly link the TK classrooms at each of SFUSD's Early Education Schools to a specific Elementary School that does not currently have a TK classroom, by way of a feeder system. This means that students starting TK at an Early Education Site in August 2026 would be automatically promoted to Kinder at their matched elementary site in August 2027, unless the family applies to move the student to a different school.

We want to hear from you! 

Before moving forward with this proposal, we want to be sure that SFUSD families, especially those of students who will be entering Transitional Kindergarten on after 2026, have a chance to learn more about it and give us their feedback. We are offering families 3 different ways to do this:

Interpretation and/or Language Support for Cantonese and Spanish will be available at each of our in-person information sessions. We are also working to be able to provide childcare for our in-person sessions although we are not able to confirm this yet.
