Attendance and Absences

We need every student in school every day! Consistent attendance is the biggest indicator of academic success. Thurgood Marshall has one of the highest chronic absenteeism rates in the district. Let’s work together to improve our school wide attendance and our students’ success! 

If your student MUST miss school, it is very important to excuse their absence. You can excuse your student’s absence by: 

• Calling the main office: 415 695 5612
• Emailing our Clerk, Ms. Briana at lopezb@sfusd.edu
• Having your student bring in a note to the main office
• (New!) Filling out this Google Form
• (New!) Caregivers are now able to use the ParentVUE App to enter a FULL day absence via the ParentVUE portal on your mobile app or desktop site. Instructions in English. Instructions in Spanish. Instructions in Chinese.
