Asian American Pacific Islander Parent Advisory Committee (AAPI)
AAPI provides input and engagement opportunities regarding the academic achievement and the social and emotional well-being of Asian American students at McKinley Elementary School. This group is intended to provide a forum for any parent/guardian who identifies as Asian American and or any parent/guardian of a child who identifies as Asian American.
African American Parent Advisory Council (AAPAC)
AAPAC provides input and engagement opportunities regarding the academic achievement and the social and emotional well-being of African American students at McKinley Elementary School. This group is intended to provide a forum for any parent/guardian who identifies as African American and or any parent/guardian of a child who identifies as African American.
Beautification, Greening & Garden Committee (BGG)
BGG organizes several garden work parties each year. They are a fun opportunity for parents/caregivers and kids to spend time together beautifying the school and outdoor spaces. Members also take care of day-to-day maintenance, planting and watering. BGG also helps maintain organization within the building, decluttering storage areas and hallways.
English Learner Advisory Committee (ELAC)
ELAC is a committee for parents or other community members who want to advocate for English Learners. ELAC advises the principal and school staff on programs and services for English learners.
Fundraising
This committee is comprised of parents who chair or co-chair McKinley’s established fundraisers (i.e., DogFest, Direct Appeal Campaign, Passive Fundraising), and also parents who are eager to identify new fundraising opportunities for the school.
Hospitality Committee
Hospitality helps organize various events throughout the year, including:
- Welcome Back BBQ (August)
- Welcome Back Breakfast
- Teacher Appreciation Week breakfast
- Potlucks at the PTA meetings
Latino Parent Advisory Council (LPAC)
LPAC provides input and engagement opportunities regarding the academic achievement and the social and emotional well-being of Latino students at McKinley. This group is intended to provide a forum for any parent/guardian who identifies as Latino and or any parent/guardian of a child who identifies as Latino.
Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans, Questioning, Intersex, Asexual Parent Advisory Committee (LGBTQIA)
LGBTQIA provides input and engagement opportunities regarding the academic achievement and the social and emotional well-being of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans, Questioning, Intersex, Asexual students at McKinley. This group is intended to provide a forum for any parent/guardian who identifies as Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans, Questioning, Intersex, Asexual and or any parent/guardian of a child who identifies as Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans, Questioning, Intersex, Asexual.
Mosaic Committee
The Mosaic Committee (previously Diversity Committee) has a goal of supporting our school with opportunities that celebrate the rich diversity of our community and promote equity. Mosaic has hosted several workshops for the community to raise race and equity awareness and events that build the community.
Recruiting Committee
The Recruiting Committee conducts school tours and an open house for prospective families, represents McKinley at the SFUSD Enrollment Fair, organizes events and playdates to welcome new families, and runs McKinley’s Mentor Program for new families.
STEAM
We make science and art fun and engaging at McKinley. STEAM hosts 1-2 STEAM Nights each year that give families an opportunity to engage with art and science in an interactive and creative way.
Technology Committee
This group helps to identify new and improved ways to incorporate technology into the school.
Yearbook Committee
This committee compiles photos and organizes the sale of the annual McKinley yearbook.
