English Language Advisory Committee
The English Learners Advisory Committee (ELAC) is a committee that advises the principal, School Site Council and school staff on programs and services for English learners. Parents of English learners (ELs) together with other parents, staff and community members meet to learn about services and programs for English learners and offer advice to improve the education of ELs at our school. The ELAC will meet (at least four) times a year.
ELAC: Family Literacy Workshop
Does the “science of reading” apply to Multilingual Learners? Which components are the same and which are different? What interventions are available when a dual language learner struggles to learn to read? What considerations and discussions should an IEP team have about the language needs and goals for multilingual learners? These topics were discussed at the joint CAC and DELAC meeting last month.
