English Learners Advisory Committee (ELAC)

This group is for caregivers of English Language Learners and advocates. We meet every 3rd Thursday of the month at 6pm to share resources, learn about how we support English Language Learners at SFUSD, and learn how we can support our students to reclassify to be English proficient. Interpretation in Spanish is provided. Contact Ms. Silvia Alonso De Valle if you are interested in signing up at alonsodevalles@sfusd.edu.

African American Parent Advisory Council (AAPAC)

AAPAC is a group for African American families.  We provide a forum to LISTEN to the experiences and ideas of our African American parent community.  It is our goal to cultivate the power within the lives of all African American children and families by providing the knowledge and skills necessary to advocate for a high quality educational experience for our children.  AAPAC will meet every 3rd Thursday of the month at 6pm.  Contact Ms. Josephine at zhaoj1@sfusd.edu.

School Site Council (SSC)

Join our group of elected caregivers to support us in making important monetary decisions for our school. This group of advocates votes on how we spend certain funds at JLMS. This year, we are up for election for 2 parent members. We want YOUR voice on our committee to support us in these critical decisions. Our SSC is the reason we can fund an additional English Language Development teacher for the past few years. Thank you! If interested in joining, please contact Marisol Arkin arkinm@sfusd.edu
