Hello Mission Bear Parents and Guardians!
We ask that you please join us for these important upcoming events during the month of October. We look forward to seeing you there and we thank you for your participation!
Event #1:
"Counselor's Chat Parent Meeting"- Friday, October 7 at 9:30-10:30 a.m., School Cafeteria
Our amazing student counselors invite all parents to attend their next chat presentation on Friday, October 7 at 9:30-10:30 p.m., in our school cafeteria.
Enjoy a cup of coffee and light breakfast refreshments, while the counselors present important information to help you and your student this school year. Translation assistance will be provided in Spanish and Chinese. Thank you and we look forward to seeing you there! If questions, please contact your students' counselors.
Workshop Topic: "Socio-emotional Learning at Mission HS - How a student's well-being impacts their academics, and how we promote Self-Care at school."
Event #2:
"(SSC) & (ELAC) School Site Council Parent Meetings" Thursday, October 13 at 6:00-7:00-p.m.
*(SSC) Meeting - 6:00-7:00 p.m. School Cafeteria
* ELAC) Meeting - 6:00-7:00p.m. School library
We invite all parents to please join us for our 1st SSC (School Site Council) and (ELAC) English Language Learners Parent Advisory Council meetings of the year! Both groups are made up of parents, teachers and students, and provide participants the opportunity to give input around student support services, school programs and resources that will enhance the achievement of our students.
Both groups do an amazing job of also guiding parents in the decision-making process regarding topics such as our school budget, student curriculum, faculty and school services and more. We are also looking for parents and students to serve as representatives on the committees. No experience is necessary, and you do not have to do any additional work outside of the meetings. Examples of parent representative positions includes: 1) SSC Chair, Co-Chair, Secretary, and alternates. If you are interested, please contact Ms. Varnado, Parent Liaison, at Varnadob@sfusd.edu
A light dinner and translation assistance is always provided at the meetings in Spanish and Chinese. You may send a request for interpretation in your language by contacting Ms. Varnado 10 days before a meeting to ensure interpretation assistance will be available in your language. Parking is available in our school parking lot located at 17@Dolores. Elevator assistance is available on the 1st floor main lobby.

"Cash 4 College (FAFSA) Financial Aid On-Line Application Night)
(THIS EVENT IS FOR SENIOR PARENTS & STUDENTS ONLY!)
Event Date: Thursday, October 13 at 5:00-7:00 p.m. Presentation Room 345

*If your student plans to attend college in the 2023 school year, please be sure to attend our financial aid on-line application night.
