Holiday Resources

Dear Mission Families,

If you, a family member or friend are in need of holiday meals, in addition to family resources such as on-going food support, bill & rental assistance, and more, simply dial 211 on your phone, and you will be connected to a help agent in your language who can assist you. All you need to do is provide your zip code.

We also provided a list below on agencies who can also assist you with these help services.

The Mission High Family Center will also send out courtesy holiday program information, such as winter coats and toy drive information by text and email during the break!

Family Resource Assistance Programs:
(Bills /Job Assistance Programs)

• Bill Assistance Program
  If you need to get reduce rates on basic utilities like water, power and sewer services, please call (415) 551-3000. This is helpful if you have recently lost your job or have reduced hours or income, even if you are receiving unemployment benefit.
• Job Assistance:
  United Way 211 is a great place to ask for local job assistance programs around the city. Simply call 211 on your phone, similar to dialing 911, and you’ll immediately connect to an operator who will assist you in your language, and will provide information on the services/programs they are referring you to.
• Food Stamps Program
  If interested in applying for food stamps call the (CalFresh Program) at (415)558-4700. It is best to call before going, so they can direct you to one of they’re locations at 1235 MISSION (btw. 8th & amp; 9th St) or the site at 1440 HARRISON (btw. 10th & amp; 11th).
• Rental Assistance Programs
