I know that this most likely is not the spring break you imagined. We are in uncharted territory here, and the most important thing is that we all work together.
Remember that even though we are not in the building, your teachers, counselors, Wellness team, and administrators are here to support you. Please continue to reach out by email, phone call and text. No question or concern is too big or too small. We will also continue to reach out to you.
Here is some information:
Technology for Families Resources - Where to Get a Chromebook
If you are unable to get a Chromebook this week, don't worry. MHS will have another device distribution day during the week of April 6th. I will send an email out next week with the day and time. We will never stop working to make sure you have a Chromebook. And if you do not have internet access, we will find another way to get school work to you.
Ms. Gonzalez, Mr. Hong, and I are working with a small group of teachers to create a Distance Learning schedule that will work for you. We will email that to you next week. Remember, Distance Learning begins on April 13th. At that time, you will have short Zoom classes with your teachers, your classroom work will be posted on Google Classroom, and teachers will be available to support you through office hours by Zoom, phone calls, texts or email.
Now, I am truly sorry to have to give you some bad news. SFUSD Central Office has made these decisions for all schools:
For the Spring of 2020 all proms, dances, and other similar student gatherings will be canceled.
All athletic events will be canceled as long as students are not attending school in the physical school building. If we return to a state where students are attending school at their assigned schools, then athletics will be reconsidered.
All field trips for the Spring of 2020 and the Summer of 2020 will be canceled.
