Message from MHS Counselors for Students

Mission High School Students,

We know this is an unusual time, with a lot of unknowns. Your counselors want to remind you that we care about you and want to support you however we can. Here are some important reminders and information:

  • Remember to check your email regularly

Free Meals 

  • We know you will be tempted to be on your phone, watching Netflix, but also try to do something to keep your mind strong!  How about reading a book? The public library is making it easy for all students to access books, movies, music and more, from their website: 

You can get a library card any of these 3 ways:

1)      Email info@sfpl.org

2)      Call your local library

3)      Visit any SFPL location  - check their website for updates on

 homework centers, opening soon 

  • Check out some cool videos on Khan Academy: Khan Academy

  • Consider trying a new hobby - writing in a journal, drawing, crafts, cooking

  • Summer Programming - check out the HS Summer Guide and Interest Survey

  • 11th graders - if you had scheduled to take your SAT or ACT in March or April, keep checking their websites for updated information

  • 12th graders - for those of you who applied to a 4-year university, keep checking your portals. Also, consider applying for scholarships during your free time! Visit your school homepage and search ‘scholarships’

Sabemos que estamos en un momento extraño, con algunas inseguridades. Sus consejeros quieren recordarles que nosotros estamos pensando en ustedes y que queremos apoyarlos de la manera que podamos. Aquí hay algunos anuncios e información importante:

  • Revise su correo electrónico regularlmente
  • Manténgase saludable: lávase las manos, quédese en casa si están enfermos y limiten las reuniones sociales.

  • Sabemos que van a querer estar en el teléfono, ¡pero trate de hacer algo para mantener su mente fuerte! ¿Qué tal leer un libro? La biblioteca pública está ayudando a todos los estudiantes a conseguir libros, películas, música y más, por el internet:

Puede obtener una tarjeta de la biblioteca haciéndolo en 3 diferentes maneras:

1) Mandando un correo electrónico a: info@sfpl.org

2) Llamando a su biblioteca local Biblioteca local

3) Visitando cualquier ubicación de SFPL Bibliotecas de SF - consulte la página central por información sobre centros para hacer tareas, que abrirán pronto 

  • Mire algunos videos en Khan Academy: Khan Academy

  • Considere tratar un nuevo pasatiempo: escribir en un diario, dibujar, hacer manualidades, cocinar, bailar, cantar, etc. 

  • Programa de verano: consulte la guía de verano de HS (HS Summer Guide) y la encuesta de intereses (Interest Survey)

  • Estudiantes del 11º grado: si iba tomar su examen de SAT o ACT en Marzo o Abril, vayan a la página para obtener más información 

  • Estudiantes del 12º grado: para aquellos de ustedes que aplicaron a la universidad de 4 años, revisen sus portales. ¡Además, considere solicitar becas durante su tiempo libre! Visite la página central de su escuela y busqué donde dice "scholarships"
