Dear Jefferson Community:
SFUSD has learned from the Department of Public Health that an adult family member at Jefferson Elementary School has tested positive for COVID-19. According to public health officials, no students have been identified as being positive for COVID-19. The Department of Public Health investigates when there is a confirmed case, and will notify any individuals who should be concerned. We are in constant contact with public health officials and are monitoring the situation in the event we are advised to share new guidance with you.
Ongoing developments regarding COVID-19 may be overwhelming, especially to younger children. Parents and caregivers can help children understand the situation better by discussing their children's concerns. Please also continue to take care of yourselves and your loved ones by following the current City and State guidance to stay home except for accessing essential needs.
