Overview
-
A hidden treasure in the Bayview-Hunter's Point community, where every day, Carver’s staff come to school with compassion and dedication to each student’s academic and personal success. We believe in providing a tailored and personalized education for all students that meets the intersection of feasibility and ambition. We believe that a rigorous education, rooted in literacy, will develop readers, leaders, and 21st Century Scholars.
Carver offers students a variety of enrichment opportunities, including an after-school program. Teachers working in the after-school program provide 1:1 tutoring and cooperative lessons, as well as implement programs such as “X - KIDZ” (a hands-on science program) and Street Side Stories (a creative arts program). Other programs for parents include parent leadership classes, Family Math Night, and Family Literacy Night. Historically, Carver has been an award-winning school, and we strive to maintain the excellence of ourselves and our achievers.

School communities gather twice a year to review data and previous actions in order to intentionally plan for the coming months. The School Plan for Student Achievement is the template on which this review and stakeholder engagement process is codified.
