School Social Worker

Hi, I am Qiting Huang, very excited to be part of the CIS Family!

I was born and raised in Guangzhou, China. In 2013, I immigrated to the United States with my parents. Growing up in China, Cantonese is my first language, and I started to learn Mandarin when I was 6 years old.

I enjoy being with kids, and working as a school social worker is a career that I have dreamed of since my internship. I was part of the SFSD Internships Team, formerly the Student Intervention Team in 2017 at SFUSD where I had my first internship. I finished my bachelor's degree from SFSU in 2018, then I joined the Healthy Choices of Americorps for two years. I was placed in Hillcrest Elementary School as a Mentoring for Success coordinator, where I worked even closer with students and families. Then, I got my master degree and my Pupil Personnel Services Credential (PPSC) in 2023.

Though I have been working in the school district for 4 years, I just started my school social worker this year with CIS. I am so grateful to be here and serve my community. I am longing to get to know more about the school and the community. Also, I believe that a safe and supportive environment for students are essential for their learning.

I look forward to growing and learning at CIS along with our students. Thank you for having me and letting me be a part of the team!
