Principal's Welcome

Principal Yee began her career with the San Francisco Unified School District as a bilingual classroom teacher.  She has taught from grades kindergarten to eighth grade, was an Instructional Reform Facilitator, and an assistant principal.  Her tenure at Chinese Immersion School at De Avila began in July of 2023.

Principal Yee’s Message

Greetings. Welcome to Chinese Immersion School at De Avila.  I am exceptionally honored to accept this new role and look forward to building bridges and establishing student centered relationships with the amazing and diverse CIS community.  I recognize that the CIS community has been steeped in a tradition of excellence, dedication, and collaboration.  It is my goal to further these attributes through the collective knowledge, positive growth mindset, and the creativity of our students, staff, families, and community members.

The partnership between family and school is vital for student emotional and academic development. We at CIS believe that establishing safe and supportive environments are keys to a student’s enjoyment of school and learning and to a student’s feeling of inclusiveness, acceptance, and respect for others.  It is my hope that CIS has helped to establish the foundational steps for our students to become global citizens.

I look forward to celebrating our collective successes together through conversation and solution oriented collaboration.
