Room Parents / Padres de Salón Link to this section

Room parents assist the teachers of their children both inside the classroom and in the development of projects. Room parent responsibilities often include reaching out to the other parents in their class about upcoming events and field trips and school needs. The time commitment is roughly an hour a week. The nature of the work of each Room Parent will be determined in collaboration between the parent and teacher.

Volunteer Opportunities Link to this section

Come be a volunteer at Bryant Elementary School!

From 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., there is a wide range of volunteer opportunities at our school — everything from helping students improve their reading skills, to supporting our Community Food Bank, to assisting in the school library, to working in our after-school programs. With just one hour, once a week, you could serve as a caring adult figure in a student’s life and help your student develop the skills they need to succeed.

If you’re ready to start the process of becoming a volunteer at Bryant Elementary, please go through our partner SFEdFund.

Volunteers in San Francisco Unified School District sites must be “cleared” to become a volunteer. The steps to become a volunteer include:

  • Attending an online information session
  • Completing the volunteer application
  • Attending a training
  • Providing proof of a negative TB test or screening
  • Passing a Department of Justice background check (this includes fingerprinting)

You will receive detailed information throughout each step of the process either by phone or email once you sign up through SF Ed Fund.
