At Willie L. Brown Jr. Middle School, students learn to use project-based STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) practices to develop the foundational skills and beliefs needed to successfully major in STEM degrees and pursue STEM careers. Students use technology as a tool to explore their identities, expand their possibilities, and be of service to others.

We are BVHM, the Mission District's K-8 dual-language Spanish Immersion Community School, and as such we strive to develop strong bilingual and multicultural agents of change that can thrive academically, socially and artistically. Through academically rigorous instruction, technology, and the arts, our educators develop students’ collaborative and critical thinking skills, preparing them for a dynamic world.

Phillip and Sala Burton Academic High School promotes a nurturing, equitable school culture committed to high-level academic achievement for all students. John Yehall Chin parents love our small, welcoming school and the well-rounded education we provide their students. Being efficient and productive are the two attributes that we treasure the most here. We fully realize and accept without angst the importance of state mandated assessments. We believe in creating a learning environment that fosters caring and innovation so that our students are thirsting to transform our world. Our teachers possess a deep knowledge of their content areas and current research on human development to effectively teach all learners.

Students at the Chinese Immersion School at De Avila dual language immersion program have the unique opportunity to learn Cantonese and English in grades K-5. Our community strives to provide the students with a caring and nurturing environment with a strong focus on the whole child, high achievement and academic excellence. Our mission is to prepare our students with multilingual skills to become caring and globally responsible citizens in the 21st century.  

Civic Center Secondary School is one of several San Francisco County Community Schools which provide educational services to students in grades 7-12 who are assigned due to expulsion proceedings, recommended by Juvenile Probation, Foster, Homeless, and/or Social Services, or through truancy or behavioral intervention.
