Welcome to McCoppin!
We're excited to welcome new families to our community, and are looking forward to meeting you and sharing information about our great school. If your student is starting school at McCoppin Elementary in fall 2025, here are the next steps:
- Accept your school assignment via email, in person, or using ParentVUE. Learn how to accept your assignment here.
- Turn in ALL required SFUSD documents to McCoppin’s front office. (Students cannot start school if immunization records are not completed.) You may drop them off to the front office in person by June 2 (or in the fall), OR you may email items to sch549@sfusd.edu:
- Copy of your child’s assignment letter from SFUSD
- School Health Record and TB Test result (this form needs to be completed and signed by a healthcare provider): Forms
- Birth Certificate (copy is OK)
- Copies of parents' photo ID
- Two different bills, for proof of address
- If coming from another elementary school, your child's previous school's name and address (so the school can request her/his/their cumulative folder)
- If coming from another elementary school, copies of IEP/Report Cards - Register for ParentVUE (to access San Francisco Unified School District (SFUSD) info, such as report cards)
- Email the PTO (pto@fmespto.org) to join their mailing list; they’ll share info about summer playdates and new student orientation (orientation takes place right before school starts).
- Join our school's Facebook group and contact the PTO to get added to our WhatsApp group.

Update on before and after school care
We're also excited to announce that McCoppin Elementary now offers before and after school care programs for all grades, TK-5th. Learn more about our before and after school care and enrichment programs.
