The Personalized Learning Environments Program

The Mission and Vision of PLE

Mission: The PLE Program seeks to create models for technology-enabled, personalized learning environments that transform student learning across SFUSD with a focus on focal students and can eventually be scaled districtwide so that ALL SFUSD students can actualize the Vision, Values, Goals and Guardrails.

Vision: Through the Personalized Learning Environments programs, each and every SFUSD educator provides the access and opportunity for their students to strengthen their academic ownership by enhancing the everyday use of digital learning tools in the classroom.

What's Next for PLE

whats next

Due to budget constraints and the current SFUSD hiring freeze, the PLE program will be re-designed to a PLC(professional learning community) format. This means that a collaborative team of educators who are student-focused and inquiry-based will meet regularly over a the course of the school year to discuss, brainstorm, implement and reflect on personalized digital learning experiences that meets the needs of their focal students. The Digital Learning Team will be able to provide light touch support but the work will rest mostly on PLE participants.
