What is an Internship with SFUSD? Link to this section

An internship is a paid opportunity for high school students to expand their learning outside of the classroom and explore careers in an hands-on environment.

  • Work alongside industry mentors and explore careers
  • Develop skills that will make you successful in college and your future career
  • Network with professionals and peers
  • Get paid for working a minimum of 20 hours per week
  • Attend a weekly Work Based Learning seminar with your SFUSD Supervisor/Mentor

Who is eligible for an internship?

Internships are intended for sophomores and juniors to extend their learning outside of the classroom. Priority will go to 11th grade students (rising seniors). 

Six-week summer internships may be available in the following industry sectors:

  • Architecture
  • Automotive Technology
  • Building & Construction Trades
  • Computer Science
  • Culinary / Hospitality
  • Engineering
  • Environmental Science / Urban Agriculture
  • Finance
  • Law
  • Marketing / Media Arts / Social Media
  • Project Management
  • Public Leadership Service
  • Sports

The Summer 2025 Interest Form is open to current SFUSD High School students only, through February 28, 2025.
