About Aptos

Aptos Middle School's mission is to provide an enriching, engaging, and empowering educational experience with equitable outcomes for each student using critical pedagogy and research-based, multi-tiered systems of instruction and intervention to promote student self-mastery, scholarship, and social justice. 

VISION: Scholars will exit Aptos with a mastery of the Common Core State Standards, able to display their core knowledge, critical thinking skills, and general academic competency. They will have developed 21st century skills, providing them with an agentic perspective that allows them to navigate and engage in a more inclusive, interconnected, multilingual way. The Aptos Scholar is able to solve “real world” problems with the confidence, freedom, and ability to express their unique selves. Aptos Scholars will advance to high school filled with purpose as they continue to uphold our core T.I.G.E.R. values.

Core Values: Known as "T.I.G.E.R. Style," our core values reflect a universal code of ethics along with the character traits necessary for student academic success and positive social-emotional growth. The values form the word "tiger" and represent the following acronym:

• INTEGRITY: Commitment to honor moral and ethical values and principles.
• GRIT: The courage to fail; the passion and perseverance to succeed.
