Corporal Punishment (Physical Punishment)
(CA Education Code 49000 & 49001)
- No student shall be subject to the infliction of corporal punishment by any person employed by or engaged in the public schools of the San Francisco Unified School District.
- A person employed by or engaged in a public school may use an amount of force that is reasonable and necessary to quell a disturbance threatening physical injury to a person or damage to property, for purpose of self-defense, or to obtain possession of weapons or other dangerous objects within the control of the student.
