The Mission High School Health Department
The Mission High School Health Department is honored to offer holistic, scientifically-backed and California Health Education Standards aligned instruction to inform and empower students in their journey of life long health.
All 9th grade students take a 6 Unit, year long course, Health 150.
A core group of 11th and 12th grade students apply for the role of Youth Outreach Workers (YOWs). In this 2-year sequence they take 4 classes, two of which are dual-enrolled with City College of San Francisco. These YOWs give back to the Mission High School community through peer-to-peer education in-person, online and in print-based materials.
