Francisco Family Engagement Team is looking for parents who are interested in supporting school committees. Each committee has an important role in our community that works for the benefit of the education of our students. PARENT TEACHER ORGANIZATION (PTO)

PTO is in charge of fundraising to supplement the school celebrations, teacher appreciations, and other needs. This group of parents and family members works with Francisco staff and Beacon to create community events.  

SCHOOL SITE COUNCIL (SSC)

NEXT MEETING:

5:15PM - 6:30PM

The SSC is responsible for the development of the Academic Plan and overall school site budget, including any categorical funds. The council meets monthly to review the SFUSD Strategic Plan, review and analyze student data, solicit community input and develop a needs assessment, assist the principal in developing the SPSA and School Site Budget and monitor the implementation of the SPSA on an ongoing basis. 

ENGLISH LEARNER ADVISORY COMMITTEE (ELAC)

The purpose of the ELAC is to advise the principal, SSC and school staff on programs and services for English learners. Parents of English learners (ELs) together with other parents, staff and community members meet to learn about services and programs for English learners and offer advice to improve the education of ELs at our school.

BALBOA HIGH SCHOOL

The 2025-26 Enrollment Fair will be held at Balboa High School. 

 

Where: Balboa High School, 1000 Cayuga Ave, San Francisco, CA 94112

When:  Saturday, Oct. 19 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

What: Families of transitional grade students are invited to come and meet representatives from schools, learn about the enrollment process, and more! 

FMS MULTICULTURAL EVENT

Come and celebrate the diversity of Francisco with us on Oct. 10.  We will have food, student performances, music and prizes. We hope to see you there!

TENNIS & LEARNING CENTER PROGRAM:

August 19 - June 4

The Tennis and Learning Center’s afterschool programs provide middle school students the opportunity to be creative in a safe space, and participate in extracurricular activities, while also being able to focus on academic studies with the help of a tutor on hand everyday. Find out more here and here.

Cost: 

Scholarship-based program, all qualifying applicants must qualify for a 50% or 100%, must live in our city's equity zone zip code areas

This document outlines what happens when students make good choices, and what happens when/if they don’t make good choices. It also outlines how we restore harm when it’s  been done.

Pick Up & Drop Off

For the safety of your child and the pedestrian traffic we have, DO NOT:

  • Pick up your child in front of the school gate.  We must keep the loading lane clear for SFUSD Special Education buses.
  • Double park on the school’s surrounding streets, Francisco, Powell, Stockton or Chestnut streets.

  • Select another block to meet your child

Here are updates you need to know:

  1. Update your contact information: sfusd.edu/contactinfo to ensure you receive school and district notifications.
  2. Complete your Emergency Card Form online for school year 24/25. If you completed this before June 30, you need to submit a new form. Please visit sfusd.edu/emergencycard for more information.
  3. Complete Acknowledgements for school year 24/25. For more information, visit sfusd.edu/acknowledgements
  4. You can now report FULL DAY absences in Parentvue! To learn how to report full day absences in ParentVUE, you can view video instructions and instructions on how to submit full day absences on desktop or the mobile ParentVUE app

If you forgot your password, click  the “Forgot Password” link and enter your email address to receive instructions on how to reset your password. Contact your school site to get an activation key and visit sfusd.edu/parentvue for more information on your account.

PARENTVUE & STUDENTVUE UPDATES

Update All School Forms

  • All Emergency Contact Information for your child can be entered through ParentVue, ensuring we have this information is essential to help us quickly connect your child with family and guardians in the event of an emergency. Please complete the online Emergency Contact Form now. 
  • All families must complete the Multipurpose Family Income Form. This form is vital to ensure school funding. Completing it helps our school and provides your family with access to discounted utilities, afterschool programs, and other benefits. Please take a few minutes to complete this form now.

Beacon: Before & After School Programming

The Beacon program at Francisco supports students with programming during the school and before and after school.  Students must be registered in order to  participate in before and after school programming. The registration form includes the multipurpose income form. FMS asks ALL families to do this, whatever their income. It provides important information for the school. 

Program Hours 

  • Before school
    • Monday - Friday 8:30 am - 9:30am (structured sports programming in the gym) 
  • After School 
    • All school days, except Wednesday, starting right after school in the cafeteria: 4:00pm - 6:30pm 
    • Wednesday: 2:15pm - 6:15pm 

Location: School cafeteria!

FMS Phone Policy

FMS is a phone free school.  This means students are expected to use their assigned phone pouch every day.  Pouches remain with students.
