All schools in California with more than 20 English language learners must create an ELAC, which advises the SSC on addressing the needs of students learning English. The ELAC controls the portion of the school budget dedicated to English language learning and makes annual recommendations to the administration on how to use those funds. One member from each school committee is also elected to the district ELAC. ELAC meets on the second Tuesday of the month and meetings are open to the entire school community.
ELAC elections are held at the ELAC welcome event in September.
