SFUSD Summer Opportunities
SFUSD will be offering several summer opportunities to extend learning time during the summer months. Programs offered through SFUSD include both academic and enrichment programs, focusing on our youngest learners through year-round PreK programming, after school programming, Extended School Year for students with IEPs and credit recovery options for our high school students. Early Education PreK Summer
Engaging and enriching activities for young learners with a focus on early literacy and social and emotional skill building
Age: Children ages 2 years and 9 months to 5 years old
Dates/Time: Monday June 10- Wednesday August 14, 2024 (Est. 8:30am-4:00pm)
Expanded Learning Opportunities: ExCEL Summer 2024
Engaging, full-day summer programming to elementary and middle school students
Summer enrollment happens directly through ExCEL partner agencies and includes free/priority access for qualifying families
Grade Levels: TK, K-5, 6-8

Black Star Rising (BSR) Summer
A holistic STEM program intentionally designed for SFUSD’s African American high school students that includes math and science coursework and dual enrollment opportunities

Extended School Year
Service offered to students on an IEP who would benefit from an extended learning opportunity due to significant regression in learning over a long break
Grade Levels: PK, TK, K-5, 6-8, 9-12
Summer Academy for Integrated Language Learning (SAILL)
Five-week summer program dedicated to providing newcomer multilingual students an opportunity to earn additional high school credits, continue developing their English language skills, and access socio-emotional supports
Grade Levels: 8-12 grades
Migrant Education Summer School Program
Supplemental academic service for all students who qualify for the Migrant Ed Program
Grade Levels: PK, TK, K-5, 6-8, 9-12
Intensive Summer Geometry
Six-week intensive Summer Geometry course for SFUSD 9th graders who are completing CCSS Algebra 1 and would like to take CCSS Algebra 2 during their regular academic year as 10th graders
