Overview
-
Theresa S. Mahler Early Education School is located in the Noe Valley neighborhood of San Francisco. Our community provides a safe learning environment that respects, cherishes and encourages the individual learner for his or her own uniqueness, while honoring diversity, providing the child with a sense of belonging, and nourishing the individual’s developmental and learning style.
We have embraced the Creative Curriculum framework, which is aligned with SFUSD and Early Education Department’s goals and priorities. Creative Curriculum is a research-based curriculum which integrates what children learn, the learning environment, how children develop and learn, the role of the family, and the role of the teacher. We have a balance of indoor and outdoor activities and provide opportunities for hands-on activities and studies. We emphasize literacy, STEM, and social emotional development.
The center offers classrooms with children receiving inclusive services and the classrooms are mixed age group. We provide a safe, high-quality nurturing environment where a child’s educational journey in the district begins, and where respect for individual is valued. We strive to build positive relationships with parents and families and offer joyful, engaging experiences for children to explore, experiment, and be challenged and motivated to become successful lifelong learners.
