Lawton Student Drop-off and Pick-up Procedures Link to this section
Following these simple directions will help keep our students safe during the hectic pick-up and drop-off times.
Automobile drop-offs and pick-ups for students in kindergarten, 2nd grade, 5th to 8th grade are from the 30th Avenue passenger loading zone. There is no parking in the white passenger loading zone. Do not shut off your engine when you are in the white passenger loading zone.
Automobile drop-offs and pick-ups for students in 1st, 3rd and 4th grade are from the 31st Avenue passenger loading zone near our garden. Do not block the yellow school buses.
Upon entering the white zone, students should be prepared to exit cars quickly and safely. Pull your car as forward as possible in the white zone, keeping the flow of traffic moving after drop-off. Wait until the cars ahead have pulled out before moving into the white zone.
Do not get out of the car in the white zone to retrieve items in the trunk. Keep backpacks, etc... in the car.
For everyone's safety DO NOT double-park anywhere around the school.
DO NOT drop off your children while double-parked.
DO NOT block our neighbor's driveways.
If you do park your car and walk with your child, please don't jaywalk. Please use the crosswalks. A crossing guard is posted at the corner of Lawton and 30th Avenue.
Students who are tardy must enter through the 31st Avenue main entrance.
The Lawton Street and 31st Avenue bus zones are restricted to the use of the school buses. You shouldn't park your car there for any reason during the posted times.
