WHAT IS DIGITAL COMMUNICATION PATHWAY
(previously known as the Media Arts Pathway)
One of the most in-demand college degrees employers look for is Communications & Marketing. Workers and lifelong learners in the 21st century need to communicate information, ideas and opinions in a variety of media. Digital Communication Pathway students will gain skills to be savvy consumers and skilled producers of media. Digital Communication Pathway students produce Galileo’s weekly G-House TV Broadcasts and ad campaigns.
CURRICULUM
YEAR 1: INTRO TO DIGITAL COMMUNICATION (10th or 11th grade)
- Learn Photoshop
- Build Websites
- HTML
- CSS
- Dreamweaver
- Marketing & Branding for Ad Campaigns
- Large-scale Web Projects launched live on the Internet
- Web-Based Personal Portfolios
- Intro to Video with Video Bootcamp - produce a new video each week (spring semester)
- Final Project: Personal Portfolio Video
ADVANCE VIDEO PRODUCTION
(Prerequisite: Intro to Digital Communication or instructor permission)
- Produce weekly G-House Broadcasts for TV & Website
- Create commercials & short videos to promote Galileo’s sense of community
- Spring Semester: Student voices will be heard as they explore topics they care about and developed polished statement videos
