Alisa Alvarez Brown - TSA, Graduate Lead
Alisa was a middle school math teacher at Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Academic Middle School for ten years. She then became an instructional coach and a Middle School Math Content Specialist. She has taught Algebra 1 for High School Credit Recovery and is currently a teacher on special assignment as the Graduate Lead for the San Francisco Urban Teacher Residency Program. Alisa has 22 years of experience in SFUSD. Identifying as biracial, Alisa works hard to understand perspectives from multiple viewpoints and enjoys doing the work to create joyful learning experiences for all students.
Esther Jaramillo Woo - TSA, Director of Clinical Studies
Esther has been in education for over 20 years in Sacramento, Elk Grove, Stockton, and San Francisco with the past 14 years as a part of the San Francisco Urban Teacher Residency as a Cooperating Teacher (mentor), Spanish Bilingual residency coach, and her current role as Clinical Lead. During this time, she has also held roles with other organizations (Trellis Residency, adjunct professor at USF and SF State, and CTA New Teacher Pipelines committee) all connected to new teacher development. As a Latinx immigrant, Esther is committed to ensuring all SFUSD students receive rigorous learning.
