What is the Teacher Leader Fellowship?
The Teacher Leader Fellowship (formerly the Master Teacher Program) is a 1-4 year opportunity to grow your leadership, facilitation, and teaching practice!
You will receive one-on-one coaching to help foster site-based, equity-centered professional learning communities, engage in a bimonthly cross-site PLC, and have the opportunity to develop your own facilitation skills as you lead a site-based lesson study team.

What is Lesson Study?
Lesson Study is a professional learning structure that is an educator-driven, collaborative inquiry cycle focused on students.
During lesson study, teams of educators engage in research, experiment with new strategies and lesson design, observe student learning, and ultimately seek to improve their practice. Lesson Study shifts the culture of professional learning by placing teachers in the driver’s seat, valuing their professional expertise, promoting open classroom practice, and highlighting the true science of teaching.

“Education either functions as an instrument which is used to facilitate integration of the younger generation into the logic of the present system and bring about conformity or it becomes the practice of freedom, the means by which men and women deal critically and creatively with reality and discover how to participate in the transformation of their world.”
-Paulo Freire, Pedagogy of the Oppressed
