SFUSD Nutrition Guidelines
The SFUSD Nutrition Guidelines, developed by Student Nutrition Services (SNS) with input from child nutrition experts, describe the standards for all foods and beverages sold or served in school. These guidelines were updated in 2019 to provide more culturally relevant meals, incorporate current research and best practices around child nutrition, provide more guidance for adults, and to serve as a better resource.
SFUSD is proud to have some of the highest standards for school nutrition in the country. Our Nutrition Guidelines meet or exceed the standards outlined in federal, state, and local policies established by the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) and California Department of Education (CDE).

Food Provider Application (FPA)
The Food Provider Application is intended for any entity who wishes to sell, donate, or provide food and/or beverages to SFUSD students during the school day on a regular, ongoing basis. As part of the wellness policy, the goal of this application is to work collaboratively with all food providers to align nutrition and quality standards for the food and beverages offered to students. This application does not need to be completed for one-time events such as fundraisers, school celebrations, classroom parties, or parties who have approved contracts for services with SFUSD’s Student Nutrition Services.
