The McKinley Library is the Heart of our School
Mission
The McKinley Elementary School Library seeks to provide students and staff with access to current, appropriate information resources, and to improve reading skills by promoting pleasure reading. The library’s goal is to provide a collection of materials that supports the curriculum and the literacy goals of our school community. Please visit our online catalog to see what we have in our collection. See the Library Materials Selection Policy for more details.
Grab and Go Paperback Library
Located in the hall at the top of the ramp, the Grab and Go Paperback Library is an honor system lending library that makes paperback books available to students, families and teachers at all times. These books are not cataloged and do not need to be checked out.
Parent Volunteers in the Library
Like spending time in libraries? We can use you! Please contact Ms. Cathy
(mulliganc@sfusd.edu)
if you are interested in shelving, book repair, making displays, helping children choose library books, reading with students, or keeping the library open for book check-out on days when Ms. Cathy is not at McKinley.
19th Annual Read-a-thon: February 2025
The Read-a-thon is the main source of money for new library books. McKinley kids read A LOT, and the money we raise allows our school library to purchase interesting and engaging books so that our kids can read even more.
