Faculty & Staff

Spanning grades Kindergarten through fifth, our team of dedicated teachers bring a wide variety of skills and expertise to their classrooms. Special Education and General Education teachers are committed to inclusive and culturally responsive practice. They collaborate regularly to ensure all students are welcome and that instruction is differentiated to meet the rich and diverse needs of all students. 

Specialists include our Teacher Librarian/Technology Teacher, PE Teacher, Music Teachers, Outdoor Education Fellow, and an Artist-in-Residence. Our Literacy Specialist provides targeted intervention for students still developing grade level skills in reading.

Student Teachers are assigned to DFES every semester, illustrating the strength of our teachers in mentoring and coaching future educators. We also have a longstanding partnership with Lincoln High School Teacher Academy, with Juniors and Seniors providing classroom support while earning high school credit--and gaining valuable work experience. We hope they all become educators!

Our Wellness Center is staffed by a full-time Social Worker and full-time School Nurse. Students can visit the Wellness Center throughout the day for support in managing "big" feelings, simple bumps and bruises, and to joined our wellness professionals for an occasional "Lunch Bunch" celebration. Our Social Worker and Nurse also facilitate Wellness lessons in the classrooms and counseling groups.
