To prepare for the upcoming school year, we want to alert you about a transit tunnel closure that may affect your commute to school during the first two weeks of the school year. The Twin Peaks Tunnel that connects Castro Station, Forest Hill Station, and West Portal Station will be closed for repairs from August 22-29.
The tunnel closure will affect Muni metro subway lines K and M and connections with the L Bus at West Portal Station.
During construction, the subway will operate from Embarcadero Station to Castro Station, and SFMTA will run substitute bus shuttles from Castro Station and Church Station to the outer rail terminals on the K, L, and M subway lines.
Families and staff who use this tunnel to get to school should plan your trip and allow extra travel time during the tunnel closure.
