We are committed to returning PK-12 students to in-person learning by the first day of the 2021-22 school year.

SFUSD schools and Grab & Go meal sites will be closed for spring break from Monday, March 29 to Friday, April 2. Some schools will remain open for PK and OST, keeping the same virtual schedule.

The Virtual School Planning Summit provides the opportunity to work together as a team on your School Plan for Student Achievement (SPSA), your academic plan and budget for the 2021-22 school year.

SFUSD is on track to offer in-person learning options at a select number of schools for our youngest students (those in Phase 2A) starting on April 12, 2021. Additional students will be offered in-person options before the end of April.

Starting Tuesday, March 9, the Grab & Go meal service at Mission High School will be open 11 a.m. - 4 p.m. on all service days. All other locations remain the same.

Vaccinations are one of the most effective preventative measures in stopping the spread of COVID-19 and saving lives. We encourage everyone in our community to learn more and get vaccinated when you are eligible to do so.

The COVID-19 Family Relief Fund is raising money for SFUSD families in need. If you are able, please consider donating to the fund and sharing with others.

SFUSD’s unwavering priority is to provide all students who wish to attend in-person instruction with as many days per week and as many hours per day of instruction as possible while also adhering to physical distancing requirements.

The award will be granted to six graduating SFUSD seniors who exemplify a particular strength in one or more of the characteristics of the SFUSD Graduate Profile. Winners will each receive a $3,000 scholarship.

SFUSD continues to plan and prepare to reopen school sites. This week the SF Department of Public Health conducted more inspections at some of the SFUSD school sites district staff have been preparing to reopen.

The State of California will mail cards directly to families March through June. Families do not need to apply, but please ensure your mailing address is correct in order to receive your card.

The vaccine is one of the most important ways to end the pandemic. It is very safe, and highly effective. Learn how to sign up to get a notification when you are eligible to get the vaccine.

SFUSD will not reopen any schools to in-person instruction on Jan. 25, and no new date has been set at this time.

Through the Office of Extended Learning and Support (ExLS), SFUSD offers High School Credit Recovery (HSCR) opportunities for students that need to earn credits towards graduation and/or to become UC-CSU eligible.

SFUSD continues to be committed to college enrollment for 12th grade seniors during distance learning. Here are some helpful videos to support students and families currently engaged in the college application and enrollment process. 

Superintendent Matthews is sharing this update with SFUSD families regarding plans to gradually begin offering in-person learning for students enrolled in certain grades and programs at a set of schools.

In response to feedback from families to accommodate school and work schedules, meal pickup will now be offered in the afternoon, two days per week. Schedule changes are also being made to accommodate the Thanksgiving holiday.

Learn more about the work happening to prepare schools for a safe reopening for small groups of students. At SFUSD, these small groups are the youngest students (early elementary) and students with disabilities in moderate/severe special day classes.

October is Filipino American History Month. SFUSD celebrates by highlighting the diversity, brilliance and beauty of the Filipinx community both in their countries of origin but particularly in the diaspora and their presence here in San Francisco.

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Board of Education will be holding discussions on and voting to change the admissions criteria of Lowell High School for one year (school year 2021-22).
