Dear Students, Families, and Staff,

As a member of a school community that meets SFUSD’s criteria for possible closure or merger next year, please know that your voice and perspective is very important in this process.

You are invited to attend a meeting at Harvey Milk Civil Rights Academy with Superintendent Dr. Matt Wayne to discuss what the future could look like for your school, including budget updates for the next school year. At the meetings, we will:

  • Share more context about why your school meets the criteria for a possible closure or merger;
  • Hold space to answer your questions and listen to your concerns;
  • Ask you what is unique about your school;
  • Ask you what you need if your school were to merge or close next year; and
  • Ask you what support can we put in place to make any transition as smooth as possible.

Here are the details of the meeting:

  • Wednesday, October 16 / 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.

Thank you for the opportunity to be in community with you in this meeting. In the meantime, you are welcome to review a new detailed set of Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) about these important topics.

Warmly,

The SFUSD Resource Alignment Initiative Team
