Program description
Sponsored programs through the San Francisco Alliance of Black School Educators (SFABSE) provide culturally informed services focussed on outreach to Black students. SFABSE coordinates with the central office and school staff to offer academic tutoring, enrichment, and performing arts opportunities. SFABSE coordinates events to promote student voice and leadership, such as the Black Student Union (BSU) Summit; a Historical Black College/University Fair for students to meet with college recruiters; and ceremonies such as the African American Honor Roll and Black Graduation/Rites of Passage. SFABSE also provides professional development opportunities for educators and facilitates access to community resources for families. Services provided virtually will follow SFUSD guidelines. We will follow San Francisco Department of Public Health guidelines for COVID-19 safety for in-person services. Services provided during instructional time are under the supervision of certificated SFUSD staff.
