Based on positive feedback our History-Social Studies department received from the year 1 pilot, we are excited to conduct an expanded year-long pilot of McGraw Hill textbooks, inquiry journals, and digital licenses. Pilot teachers will receive a class set of textbooks and students with an e-book (pilot schools will also be provided with a subset of hardcover books for any students who don't have digital access at home). 

Please fill out this application form by May 24th and we will notify teachers by June 5th. 
 

Pilot Teacher Benefits (minimal time commitment, ext hours included):
 

This is an exciting opportunity to have year-long access to pilot History-Social Studies core curricular materials. Pilot teachers will receive materials (including student-facing handouts) and buy back day training on implementing the curriculum before field testing, and be encouraged to give feedback via 2 surveys about eventual district-wide implementation. We hope this will support Tier 1 history-social studies instruction in San Francisco for years. 

Year-Long Pilot Study Goals:

1. Provide early access to materials for possible adoption.

2. Identify the aspects of the curriculum with the most room for improvement (identify necessary substitutions, and why they were necessary)

3. Use teacher feedback to identify local history connections.
