Announcement Message
Round 3 of reclassification began on April 1st and will close on April 30th. This is the last chance for sites to submit recommendations for English Learner students who became eligible with 2023 Summative ELPAC scores. See the report linked below to track statuses of those who were eligible this school year. Forms were sent out to teachers and site leaders on the week of April 1st.
Eligibility is determined through meeting these two of four reclassification criteria:
- ELPAC Overall Performance Level 4 in 2023 (Alternative Level 3 for dually identified students)
- Meeting Star Reading (English), Reading Inventory, or SBAC ELA cut score
To ensure equitable outcomes for Multilingual learners, it is imperative that every student meeting criteria 1 and 2 is reviewed for reclassification. If the teacher does not review and submit the form for an eligible student by April 30th, any student from Rounds 1, 2, or 3 who are still pending a form submission by May 2024 will get reviewed for a reclassification decision by certificated staff at the Multilingual Pathways Department.
Round 0 (2024-2025): Upon the first release of 2024 Summative ELPAC scores, we will identify students with new, qualifying ELPAC scores from this Spring. Round 0 will be launched on the week of May 27th for eligible students.
- Round 0 will prioritize reclassifying students in transitional grades (5th and 8th) who are eligible with new scores. If teachers are unable to submit the forms during the short turnaround window (5/27 - 6/3), students will enter the reclassification process again, next school year, during Fall 2024 (Round 1).
Please email reclassification@sfusd.edu if you have any questions.
Thank you!
