WHO WE WANT
We are currently hiring internal teacher candidates as Peer Assistance and Review (PAR) coaches starting in the 2024-2025 school year. We want talented, tenured teachers from diverse backgrounds and experiences, inspired and enacting upon the mission steeped in equity, motivated to unleash our children’s potential. We want a PAR coach who is a strong collaborator, skilled communicator, problem-solver, comfortable working in a community of continuous learning. Maintaining communication and community learning with new teachers and their mentors through the Google classroom, include monitoring the progress of new teachers through examining teachers portfolio and minutes completed in coaching. We support teachers in all subject areas but have a particularly high need for teacher coach in the following areas: Secondary Education, Bilingual/Biliteracy (Chinese/Spanish), Special Education (Mild/Moderate & Moderate/Severe).
The PAR Program is a collaboration between the district and UESF and is governed by a panel composed of four District members and five UESF members. A Peer Coach is a teacher selected and directed by the PAR Panel to assist and review teachers assigned to the PAR Program. The PAR Program works with tenured teachers subject to intervention, teachers who voluntarily seek short-term support and new teachers to the profession.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- California Clear Credential for subject area of assignment
- Five years of full-time SFUSD service as a teacher in the subject matter field of assignment
- Consistent Highly Satisfactory or Outstanding evaluations
- Recent service as an SFUSD classroom teacher
- Prior successful experience in a mentor/coach/support role for teachers
HOW TO APPLY

After logging in, navigate to the Career Page from the drop down menu at the top left corner of the page to search for open positions and begin your application. Look for Requisition ID 18697.
Step 2: Apply on EMPowerSF and upload 1) a comprehensive resume and 2) a letter of interest.
