The District will be updating its wireless authentication certificate on Thursday, Jan. 11th, at 8 p.m. Some users may need to accept a new wireless certificate when connecting to SFUSD WiFi.
Announcement Message
The District is updating its wireless authentication certificate on Thursday, January 11 at 8 p.m. This annual event ensures a secure wireless experience on SFUSD WiFi. Depending which device(s) you use, you may need to accept a new wireless certificate at this time. Accepting this certificate is normally a one-time task.
When: Thursday, January 11th at 8 p.m.
Where: District-wide on SFUSD WiFi
What to expect based on your device type:
- Windows, Android & Chromebook Devices:
No action is required. - District-managed Apple Devices (including Macs, iPads & iPhones):
No action is expected. The new wireless certificate will be pushed out to all district-managed Apple devices prior to Thursday, January 11th. If an Apple device does not receive this certificate, a user will need to manually accept it (see bullets below). - Personal/Unmanaged Apple Devices (Macs):
When connecting to SFUSD Wifi and prompted, click ‘Continue’ to verify the “wifi.sfusd.edu” certificate and follow the prompts (see attached screenshot). - Personal/Unmanaged Apple Devices (iPads, iPhones & iOS):
When connecting to SFUSD Wifi and prompted, tap on ‘Trust’ located in the top-right corner of the pop-up screen (see attached screenshot).
If users encounter difficulty connecting to SFUSD’s WiFi network after 8pm on January 11th, 2024, they are advised to submit a DoT Service Request at help.sfusd.edu or contact the SFUSD Help Desk at (415) 241-6476 during business hours.
