We need your help to ensure students are nourished on field trips. Please see our action items that SNS could use your help with.

Did you know? Field Trip meals and coordination fall under TWO Student Nutrition Services goals:
- Support a Thriving Workforce
- Build a Strong School Food Culture
We need your help! You can help us achieve both of these goals within the Field Trip process by doing the two following action items:
- Frequently check to ensure that field trips with requested meals have been approved by you at least 10 days before the trip! [Support a Thriving Workforce]
- Site Administrator or designee must approve field trips at least 10 business days prior to the field trip date. Field trip meal requests are NOT forwarded to Student Nutrition Services, until after the site administrator or designee have approved the field trip. We are receiving many requests for Field Trip Meals outside of the ten business day window, which SNS needs to order from our vendors.
- Get to know and communicate with our Dining Staff at your site! [Build a Strong Food Culture & Support a Thriving Workforce]
- Visit them in the kitchen; many have been working with us for over a decade
- They are as much a part of your team as they are of ours!
- Inform them of any Field Trips coming up; in-person notifications are great, but they must be followed up with through the formal channels.
- Cancellations; Let them know as soon as possible if a trip has been canceled
- Talk to them about what’s going on on-campus! If an on-campus or off-campus event is scheduled, please let them know as soon as possible.
- They can make changes to lunch order quantities
- This will avoid food waste; meals that can’t be reimbursed are paid for using general fund dollars
- Visit them in the kitchen; many have been working with us for over a decade
