We are reaching out with an opportunity to attend a free PD series (and get paid!) through 826 Valencia and the Bay Area Writing Project (BAWP). We are initially prioritizing recruitment for teachers in grades 3-5 at SFUSD schools.

This is the second year we are offering this six-session professional development series, which will focus on advancing teacher practices in the instruction and uses of writing for learning.

Emphasis will be placed on researched-based practices recognized as especially effective in addressing the social-emotional contexts students bring to the learning environment and that create student agency, increase motivation, and develop writer voice, confidence and skill.

Teachers taking part in the year-long series will receive a $500 stipend funded by 826 Valencia.

In addition, participants can elect to take the series for continuing education credits (CEUs) through Dominican University.
